TIOS is deeply personal to me and is still in the works, I want to tell the original story without fan influence.

Things to remember about their QPR when talking about them or making fan content
Tom and Daph call themselves partners, life partners, or queerplatonic partners (QPs). They are extremely close to one another.
When talking to strangers in public, they refer to themselves as best friends. In private or with close friends, they refer to themselves as partners.
They do not label themselves as friends with benefits, boyfriends, or as a romantic couple.
Tom is homoromantic and can be in a romantic relationship with someone else while he still has his QPR with Daph.
Daph is aromantic and does not seek out romantic relationships.

My two main characters, Tom and Daph, are in a queerplatonic relationship (QPR).[The following paragraphs make use of information found in the resources below]This type of relationship comes in all shapes and sizes. It's difficult to define, but it's generally thought of as a committed relationship that bends the traditional rules of what is considered romance or friendship. There is no "correct" way to have a QPR, it is generally defined by the people participating in it. While primarily platonic in nature, it can have some romantic and/or sexual aspects or none of those at all.The term originated from the aromantic community and is also a response to amatonormativity, the "widespread assumption that everyone is better off in an exclusive, romantic, long-term coupled relationship, and that everyone is seeking such a relationship." This norm has negative social consequences and excludes people who are asexual, aromantic, and/or non-monogamous.Both my characters (Tom and Daph) do not subscribe to amatonormativity; they do not view platonic and romantic attraction in black and white. Daph, in particular, is aromantic and he prefers having queerplatonic relationships. Their QPR is built on established boundaries, and I'd appreciate it a lot if you can respect how they define their relationship!I made this page because not a lot of my followers outside of the a-spec community know about this subject.
